Daniel Pettegrew owner of Xetava Gardens in Ivins, Utah
has begun a incredible new project called Sacred Earth Living.
Gently meandering pathways flow into alleys and walkways leading to private
courtyards filled with desert herb gardens and vine covered trellises.
Small home workshops throughout Sacred Earth allow artisans a place
to create & sell pottery, jewelry, sculptures, paintings, music , poetry
& whatever your heart desires.
Sacred Earth will be nestled in the town of
Ivins, Utah. Which is surrounded by
inspiring views of richly colored red sandstone cliffs , plateaus & mountain scenery.
A lifetime of research & design is going into every
detail of this project. Stained glass windows, hand carved doors,
flowing streams of water are all part of the vision for
this special place.
Dwellings in Sacred Earth will be made up of smaller, more intimate spaces from
500 to 1,200 square feet with an emphasis on detailing, which celebrates
and reflects the desert environment. High density one & two story environment. High density one & two story
dwellings and shops combine with private terraces and garden
courtyards, providing sheltering spaces for meditation
and relaxation.
Every structure and space in
Sacred Earth will be thoughtfully
and carefully handcrafted. Thick walls,
hand carved doorways, stained glass
windows, stone floors and cobblestone
pathways will be the norm rather than the
exception. The costs will range from
approx. $175 to $325 per square
foot depending on the amount
of detailing involved.
To insure its integrity
and to maintain an organic
process to the development
of Sacred Earth, each cluster
of dwellings and shop spaces
will be created on a small scale
of approx. 6 to 10 dwellings at a time.
This will help maintain the high level of
craftsmanship and quality we are committed to.
